The DotNetNuke Event Viewer is a record of events.
Events are recorded by different actions, for example a user logging in, or the deletion of a user.
Information retained in the log can be configured by clicking on the button Edit Log Settings.
The best use of a log file is for after the event analysis. There is a limit setting the number of entries retained for each recordable event. as well as whether it should be logged. Select the duration based upon how many such events typically occur in a day and how regularly you view the event log.
Allowing the event log to grow too large can impact on the operation of the website, causing it to slow down. If the event log is too big the only way to reduce it may be to perform a truncation.
