The recycle bin allows a second chance on modules and pages which have been deleted.
If a module or page has been deleted they are held within the recycle bin. The module entries show the page on which they were visible.
Restoration of a deleted module will be to its original page.
Older versions of DotNetNuke allowed the restoration page for a module to be chosen. If there were a lot of modules, and particularly if their title hadn’t been set, this could make selecting the right module to restore awkward.
When adding a module I prefer to set the title fairly soon, Its also worth ensuring, where possible, that the title for a module is descriptive of its content. This again helps locating the module in the recycle bin if it should need to be restored.
I prefer to keep the content of the recycle bin to a minimum. If you have deleted an item in error it can take a little sorting through if there are many items. Content here will have a tiny impact on the operation of the database, items retrieved to populate a page.
