A WooCommerce WordPress website may default to showing products listed as id references rather than using friendly URL strings. This permalinks error is easy to correct.
This was an older installation issue with WooCommerce, which has been changed in recent releases making the URL more friendly in its parameters.
Having previously configured a WordPress website to use the SEO friendly permalink structure for the website URLs, I was surprised to find that the WooCommerce products and categories were showing as the old style reference types and their associated values as querystring parameters.
If you wish to correct the display of category or product in the URL visit the WordPress settings pages. Navigate to the permalinks sub-page. As can be seen in the image below there are now additional options to be set. Added courtesy of WooCommerce.
