WordPress Web Page Showing as __trashed

Restoring a page or post from the bin sets the URL to __trashed.

Editing a draft page the URL follows the renaming of the post title. Once the page, or post, is published the URL is locked. Further changes to the title will not be reflected into the URL. It can be so easy to forget to monitor these changes and the correct reflection in the URL.

As with a page, or post, which has been published, where the URL becomes locked, likewise once a page/post has been deleted and restored the URL will be locked. This time to __trashed.

Editing the page’s, or post’s, title isn’t reflected into the URL.

If you restore a page/post which was deleted, don’t forget to set the URL appropriately. Spaces are replaced by dashes and punctuation may be ignored. If you are unsure create a draft page with the same title and copy the URL to the older, restored, page.
