I don’t like seeing the adverts by Microsoft on the boot screen of Windows 10.
I have also found that every so often, when clicking on the background to show the login box, I manage to click on one of the messages.
The boot screen adverts and notifications are a part of the lock screen settings.
To remove these notifications a change of your personalisation settings is required.
Navigate to the settings menus from the start icon.
Click on the Personalisation set of menus
Select Lock Screen on the left hand menu.
Change the selected background presentation from Windows spotlight to Picture.
Show the picture on the sign in screen
This will add additional options including the following which can be turned off:
- Get fun facts
- App to show detailed status
- Apps for quick status
By changing the Windows 10 lock screen background presentation to picture additional content shown can be configured.
