Uploading a new component to a Joomla website I received a Allowed Memory Size Exhausted error.
A fuller section of the memory size error is given below:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2063954 bytes) in /public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 285
In the file php.ini add
ini_set(“memory_limit”,”12M”);
You may need to create an empty php.ini.
The file php.ini is located in the root of the website.
The file should be edited with a simple text editor, to avoid the addition of other text formatting. Once it has been uploaded ensure that its permissions are set to 644.
