If you are unable to configure the theme from the WordPress Appearance/Themes page, it can be done via the database, using a tool such as phpMyAdmin.
Login to your website database using PHPMyAdmin and navigate to the options table.
Here change the option_value for the template and stylesheet set the options_name to the template to be used. Click on change at the bottom the the table.
